The tankless does cost more, about $1000. There are other things to think about, like whether you want to use gas or electric heater. If it’s gas, the gas line has to be big enough to allow the correct amount of gas flow. I had a plumber install mine cause there was also some copper welding that needed to be done. The tankless takes up much less space than my old tank too. I’ll take some pics of it and put it on my blog.
